Nick’s footsteps echoed loudly through the empty halls as he wandered around the building. This supposed secret government agency seemed to be rather…empty today, which was something that the young man hadn’t expected it to be. He had expected to see a bunch of agents, some maybe in super awesome gear, suits, or maybe in some kind of undercover disguises running around about the place off to complete their secret missions. You know something cool. Instead he found an empty large building full of nothing, kind of disappointing for a first day on the job, but what could he do? Maybe he was just early? It wasn’t like Nick had any real schedule here yet. All he was told was to come over whenever he was available. Was the PIDA this laid back with all their agents? He had no idea. But whatever the reason was, this place was pretty much empty. It wasn’t too bad though, since no one was around, and he didn’t feel like he was being rushed to do anything this gave him time to take a good look around the place.
Frankly he needed to learn his way around. It didn’t take Nick long to get himself lost in the large building after taking a few steps inside. What the hell was up with the setup here? Why couldn’t he find a god damn map to this place? I should’ve come with James the man thought. In all the excitement he had forgotten to wake his friend up so they could come to work together. It was a foolish mistake on his part. James had been working in the PIDA long enough to know his way around. He could’ve given Nick a little tour of this place so he could get his bearings. And he needed James to introduce him to his new group of friends as well. Oh well, there was always time for that later. Nick stopped to adjust his tie (He decided to dress up all fancy for his first day) and take in his surroundings. If he had to wait around he wanted to do a little something first but what? The young man spotted a room with its lights on, a neat little sign next to it spelled out the word ‘kitchen’. Oh? Was someone else here after all? Nick quickly grabbed a hold of the door handle and swung the thing open.
“HEY!!!”he shouted as he burst through the door, expecting to be greeted or at least freak out somebody but instead was greeted with silence. “Dammit! Where is everyone?” why was this place so damn empty today? Screw it; he was going to hang out here for awhile till someone showed up. The man entered the kitchen and took a good look around the place. The kitchen didn’t look too bad; he could definitely hang around here for a bit. “Hmmm….I’m thirsty.” He mumbled as he moved towards the fridge. His eyes scanned through the fridge for something to drink. “Oh fruit punch!” man he loved fruit punch. Nick pulled the jug of the good stuff out the fridge and grabbed himself a glass. Then it hit him…how was he going to drink fruit punch with his mask on? He had almost forgotten about the thing when he came here. Nick didn’t want to take the mask off just yet, but damn he wanted his fruit punch. “They have to have a straw somewhere here.” He muttered as he started to rummage around for a straw. Luckily he found one, but it wasn’t just any kind of straw… “CRAZY STRAW!!!!” he squealed with glee! Nick put the straw into his drink, and after a little bit of struggling he was soon happily sipping on his drink.

The halls of the P.I.D.A. were uncomfortably silent, spare the random passing by of footsteps that could be heard every now and then. The quiet was unsettling, and it caused the brunette sitting in her chair to fidget around a little as she tried to keep herself from running away. Nobody was really around, but Evangeline was sure there was a reason for that. Just... You know... One she wasn't clued in on. It was probably because she was still the "youngest one there." And it was really early in the morning. But still. Everybody treated her like a baby here because she was only twenty-years-old. And because of that, she usually didn't get the memo to things. A lot more often than she would like. She wasn't going to be the inexperienced child for much longer, though. Oh, no no no. She was going to prove to them that age didn't matter. She was going to prove that she had what it took to make it as a P.I.D.A. agent. Now obviously wasn't going to be the time, though, no matter how badly she wanted it to be. She was going to have to wait until something interesting actually happened and she could squeeze her way into getting involved so she could actually show her worth. And having somebody around would probably help, too, if only just a little. Maybe if it was later in the day, as well. The ziv-angel let out a quiet sigh as she put her elbows on her desk in front of her and then proceeded to place her head in her hands. She was still tired from waking up not too long ago, and it was dreadfully boring just sitting here with nobody around.
That is, there was nobody around, until she could distinctly make out the sound of footsteps that were growing increasingly louder with each passing second. The girl raised her head and blinked her dark coffee eyes in the direction of the sound, these footsteps sounding oddly different than the usual ones she heard everyday. They were... Somewhat heavy, and fast-paced. A hint of high-strung energy mixed in. At this the angel quirked her head to the side, her attention fading from the footsteps for a moment as she ran through the possible people that they could belong to. There were a couple guys here that walked similar to that, but not quite in the same way. And they definitely did not belong to a woman. So, a newbie, then? Were they expecting a new agent? Lina racked her mind for a minute as she thought about it. Were they...? She couldn't remember, but now that her curiosity was piqued and she had nothing better to do with her life at the current moment, she decided she would go check out who these footsteps belonged to. It's not like she had paperwork to do or something, anyways. She had already taken care of everything she had to do, and the only thing she'd been doing since she arrived here was sitting around waiting for something to happen, or to at least catch her attention. This was her opportunity.
The brunette shot up from her chair and quickly made her way away from her desk, her eyes scouring the halls as she looked for somebody in the area. She couldn't see anybody, and now that she thought about it, she had been thinking too much before to even consider listening to the steps to find out where they ended up. This caused an annoyed little line to form between her smooth brows as they came together. That was stupid on her part. Lina couldn't hear even the faintest hint of the footsteps from before. She had lost the guy completely. What a fail. The girl was about to go back to her boring desk when she suddenly heard a shout from a couple halls down. It sounded faintly like a man screaming "Hey!" or something. And, it sounded like it was coming from the general area where the kitchen resided. Good. A cup of coffee sounded delicious right now. The angel began to walk down the hall towards the room where she hoped to find - what seemed to be - the only other person in the building right now. Her pumps echoed against the walls as they tapped against the tiles of the floor, giving her away as she made her way closer to the food-containing room. She was about to turn the corner into the kitchen when she could hear the voice again, this time obviously much more clearly. And oddly enough, it was squealing, like a happy little five-year-old girl who just got a Barbie. Except in a much manlier way, if possible.
Evangeline paused where she was, an amused-yet-confused-at-the-same-time smile crossing over her lips as she listened to the man for a second. Seriously, who got that excited over a straw? Yeah, this was definitely a newbie. The angel straightened her black pencil skirt and adjusted her cream blouse a little before she stepped in. What? There was nothing wrong with making oneself look presentable... The tall brunette stopped in her tracks at the sight that waited for her just a few feet away. There was a man - that much was obvious. But he had a mask on his head. A horse mask, to be exact. What the f- A blush lit up Lina's face as she realized she had just impulsively turned to flee and ended up smacking her face right into the door frame. Ouch. That was painful. And embarrassing. "Oww..." she muttered to herself, her cheeks still as red as a cherry as she lifted her hand and rubbed her forehead tenderly. She had almost forgotten that the masked guy was still standing there. Almost. The angel didn't really care about that right now though, since now all she could think was, "headache, headache, headache," over and over again. The girl quickly pivoted on her heel and strode over to one of the tables in the room, plopping down on a chair while still holding her head in her hand. She looked up to the man with a little difficulty and gave him an apologetic smile as she slowly pressed and circled her fingers over her temples. "Sorry, that was unexpected," she explained, her eyes sliding down to stare at the table as she worked at her aching skull, an embarrassed pink glow settling onto her cheeks.

Fruit punch with a crazy straw, what more could a guy ask for. Spoon sipped his drink happily, life was good. It may seem silly to others to see him get so excited over a straw, but anyone who did was just a sad little loser who couldn’t appreciate the small things in life. That or jealous. Who wouldn’t be jealous over someone with a crazy straw? It was too bad that none of his friends were with him now so he could gloat in their face over his findings. Oh well, if he had to chill out here by himself for awhile he may as well have some fun with it. What would he do though? He had to wonder. It might be a long time before anyone else showed up. That meant a long time of boredom for the young horse masked man. He couldn’t just sit here quietly for a few hours doing nothing. He had to keep himself busy somehow. Maybe he could play on his cellphone till someone showed up, raid the fridge for more goodies, or run around in the halls screaming on the top of his lungs and see how long it took for someone to try and stop him? Anything at this point would do.
Little did he know that he wasn’t the only person in the building looking for some entertainment. In all his excitement Nick had missed the tell tale sounds of footsteps heading towards the kitchen. Just as he finished off his drink the door swung open, and much to his surprise spoon found himself staring into the brown eyes of a rather attractive woman. Well, not really staring, it was hard to stare into the eyes of someone who turned away to run for it the second that they saw him. The pretty little brunette didn’t get far though. In the woman’s panic the poor thing ran head first right into the door frame. Nick couldn’t help but laugh at the scene. Man, the things he saw here today. Of course after he laughed his ass off he did feel a little bad. He didn’t have anything against the woman who tried to run from him. It wasn’t like he enjoyed her pain, but he couldn’t help but laugh, hell, he’d laugh at himself if he had done what she had just done.
“Hahaha… It’s okay.” The man said, taking a deep breath to recover before moving a little closer to the woman. “My…sexiness tends to have that affect on people.” he teased, hoping to make the young lady laugh a bit to help her feel a little better, though he could just as easily scare her again. Which was likely to happen if just taking a look at him frightened her. But hey, it didn’t hurt to try. He had to make up for laughing at her earlier. “Are you okay?” despite just banging her face against the door frame, and blushing like crazy over it, the woman looked okay. Nick plopped himself down on the table beside her and offered his hand. “My name is Nick, who are you?”

This was stupid. Why was she even here this early in the first place? If she had only been just a few minutes later upon arriving here, she probably would've missed the footsteps in the hallway. Then, she wouldn't have walked to the kitchen. And caught sight of a man in a horse mask. And then embarrassed herself by walking into the door frame. Dammit. Now she had the beginnings of a headache that was sure to last her for the rest of the day, and that really just didn't help things. Lina couldn't believe she had been so subconsciously judgmental in the first place, anyways! Just because the guy wore a mask that was weird and creepy didn't mean that he himself as a person was weird and creepy. Er... Wait... Nonetheless, it wasn't right for her to have just turned to leave like that, especially after making it obvious that she had definitely seen him. That was rude. And mean. And just not what she wanted to be. The brunette mentally scolded herself as she quietly sat there at the table. She was so disappointed in herself right now. And just wait and see - this guy was probably going to end up working right next to her or something. He was going to end up being where she was 24/7 and now she was going to have to forever remember this embarrassing accident just because of her subconsciously judgmental mind. How great! Not.
At least the guy didn't seem to take her reaction to heart. Or, if he did, he didn't show it. Instead of seeming off-put or confused, he just laughed. Laughed and laughed and laughed. Lina really couldn't blame him - if their roles had been reversed, she herself would be laughing nonstop after witnessing that, too. As the young man - he seemed young by his body - started to speak, the ziv-angel lifted her gaze back up from the table as she noticed movement out of the corner of her eye. It was the masked man as he made his way closer to where she sat. Evangeline winced a little as she brought her head up and out of her hands and turned it so that her face was directed towards him completely. She couldn't really think of anything to say in return, so she just gave him the faintest hint of a smile, trying her best to not let his mask affect her thoughts on him again. A grin grew and broke out from there as the man continued to speak, commenting on his sexiness. A laugh bubbled from her lips and she lifted one of her eyebrows at him, her headache fading a little as her attention was taken off of it. "Haha, yes, I was completely blindsided!" she responded as she caught onto his teasing. Interesting. Just a minute ago she was trying to run away from him. Now she was laughing and joking with him like she had been his friend for years. Funny the way things worked.
"I am okay though, thanks for asking," the ziv-angel said with a light smile directed up towards the man. She could feel that blush linger on her cheeks, and as much as she hated it, she could tell that it wasn't going to disappear anytime soon. Probably just more for the guy to laugh at. Evangeline watched the man move even closer until he was on top of the table - literally. He just went right up and sat down on it, seemingly comfortable from what she could tell. In the back of her mind she could sense the throb of her newly gained headache, but she kept it there behind everything else as she returned the handshake, her thin, delicate hand sliding smoothly into Nick's, as the man had introduced himself to be so. "I'm Evangeline, Lina, whatever you like," she said in return, smiling a little as she spoke. She then continued on to say, her cheeks flaring a little more as she thought back to the embarrassment of her little show, "I'm sorry about what you just saw, I didn't mean for that to happen." The girl's chagrin at herself was obvious enough as she averted her eyes away from Nick's eyes - or wherever she guessed they were located behind the mask, since she couldn't really, truly tell for sure - and allowed her smile to drain away into an embarrassed grimace. She really couldn't believe that she had acted so stupidly, and that of all things, he had been there to witness it in plain daylight.[/blockquote]

As far as first days go, Nick’s day was going better than he had expected. While he was a little bummed out that there was barely anyone around, the emptiness allowed him to do whatever crazy shit that came to mind. And oh how easily his mind came up with random crazy stuff to do. It was his forte of course; even James could be just as random as he was. Too bad James wasn’t around yet. The two could have a lot of fun in this place just by themselves. Oh well, it was his loss. He’d just have to raid the fridge of all its goodies without him…Or at least he would’ve raided the fridge if he didn’t find some unexpected company. It looked like the PIDA headquarters wasn’t as abandoned as he originally thought. There was at least one other person here, and it happened to be a rather attractive lady. Talk about luck. Even if she didn’t like him he enjoyed some company. People were always fun to be around, whether it was to hang out and have a pleasant conversation with, or to weird them out at their own expense Nick loved it.
Right now this woman had caught his attention. What kind of relationship would they have he wondered. Would they be friends? Enemies? Awkward coworkers? There was no telling how things would turn out with this one. Her first reaction to seeing him in his super awesome getup had to be the best reaction he had ever received, as bad as it had been. Her reaction did catch him off guard he had to admit. Nick had expected all kinds of reactions, people giving him odd looks, laughing at him, or maybe even giving him dirty looks as he walked by. None of them would have bothered him of course, but the last one he expected was the look of sheer terror that he had seen in this girl’s eyes. It was the most amusing reaction he had seen so far and he couldn’t help but laugh at first. But a part of him felt a little bad for her. Spoon didn’t mean to scare the girl; all he wanted was to drink some juice.
So he tried to cheer her up some. So far so good, though the woman was still blushing in embarrassment she was smiling, and even laughed a little. Seeing her laugh made the man smile too. She was pretty cute when she smiled. Spoon introduced himself and extended his arm out to give her a friendly handshake, and much to his delight she returned the gesture. “Lina huh?” he replied. “It’s a pretty name. I like it!” Nick swung his legs like a happy kid. Yeah it was decided, he liked this Lina girl and he was going to become her friend. It wouldn’t hurt to have friends in this place, especially a lady friend. The man chuckled when Lina apologized to him again. “Don’t worry about it.” He said, brushing the apology off. “It’s not like you see such an awesome getup like this every day. Everyone else here probably walks around in stiff suits, trying to look professional and all of that.” He joked. “Well….that’s what I think anyway. I don’t know…I’ve never been here before.”
